Previewing Vanderbilt at Florida

Vanderbilt travels to The Swamp tomorrow for a date with Florida, which has beaten VU 22 straight times. Here's a look at how the teams match up.

When Vanderbilt runs:

There were a lot of disappointing things in the 32-point loss at Texas A&M two weekends ago, and some related to injuries. But perhaps the most disappointing thing (at least as best we know, since VU doesn't usually come clean with news here) was one that wasn't affected by health concerns, and that was VU's inability to run the ball against a dreadful run defense. Granted, that included seven sacks, but even subtracting them, the Commodores weren't that effective on the ground, excepting a good series or two when Brian Kimbrow did some nice things.

The key this week will be whether Jerron Seymour can get back on track. Last game was one of the worst of his career, and the sophomore had been pretty consistent until then. At 5.1 yards per carry, he's still having a nice season.
