4-star LB Chandler Leniu commits to Cal, goes 1-on-1 with Rivals

For the third day in a row, Cal has received a verbal commitment on the defensive side of the ball. On Wednesday, St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA) 4-star linebacker Chandler Leniu announced his commitment following an official visit to Berkeley last weekend. The trip to the Bay Area left a big impression on the 6', 225-pounder.

"The visit weekend was on point. Everything at Cal is up to date. The atmosphere was awesome. Meeting the coaches and players was great. The education is obviously great. And the facilities are top of the line. I just loved everything about it."

And while Leniu elected to announce his commitment tonight, he had already decided that Berkeley would be his future home.

"I actually committed on Saturday. I just kind of took football out of the equation. When you think about it in life-long terms...anything can happen. The coaches told me that no matter what, they'll stick with me all the way and help me get through and get my degree. They really look out for you there. At the end of the day, football will not always be there for you. But for me and my family, getting a better education is what matters the most. That's really the biggest thing."
