FSU back in the mix for top ranked QB

For a long time, Rivals100 quarterback Ryan Mallett was stuck on Texas and Michigan. But things quickly changed. The Wolverines are still in the mix, but missing are the defending champion Longhorns. Mack Brown wanted a quick commitment but Mallett had other ideas so the two sides parted ways. As a result, he has opened up his recruitment and has a "new" top six of Michigan, FSU, Alabama, USC, Notre Dame, and LSU.

"I was down to two but some stuff happened, so I opened up recruiting," said Mallett. "I talked to Coach Steele (FSU) a few times. We are working out a visit date. He's a great guy. I was very impressed the first time we talked about a month and a half ago."

At 6-foot-7, 235 pounds, Mallett is literally head and shoulders above everyone. No one ever imagined that he would leave the Lone Star state, but Seminole fans are hoping to get the top ranked signal-caller on campus in hopes of pulling off a major coup.

"I just want to see it," said Mallett of FSU, "I've never been to FSU or anywhere in Florida for recruiting. I just want to see what it has to offer."
