Pfautz seems like a good fit for WVU

At 6-foot-5, 300 pounds, offensive guard-tackle Cory Pfautz of Manheim (Pa.) Township has the kind of size and range that West Virginia recruiters like. Combined with 5.2 speed, you can understand why the Mountaineers are probably high on the junior.

Admittedly a Michigan fan, Pfautz said that he differs from his family, which lives in the central part of the state where everyone is Nittany Lion crazy. Pfautz will be making his second unofficial visit to the Wolverine camp soon, but he also said that WVU, Virginia and Pitt are high on his list.

"Penn State is a great school, no doubt about that, but I'm more of an ACC, Big East fan," Pfautz said by telephone Thursday night.

Pfautz, who made the All-District team as a junior, has also made unofficial stops at Virginia and Pitt, but would welcome the opportunity to come see the Mountaineer campus, since recruiter Bill Kirelawich appears to be showing interest in him.

"I'm going to go to the (Penn State) NIKE camp this spring, and then I'm going to go on some one-day campus visits," said Pfautz. One of them will be the Rich Rodriguez camp.
