Neil Caudle injures thumb; has surgery

Auburn quarterback signee Neil Caudle has had his share of injuries the past two years including two ACL tears. So tearing a ligament in his right thumb during a baseball game Saturday didn't phase the Spain Park standout one bit.

"It hasn't bothered me too much just because I've had a lot worse and been through a lot worse," said Caudle. "Even though it is on my throwing hand, I don't think it will bother me. It will just be annoying for six weeks."

The injury occurred Saturday in the seventh inning of Spain Park's final game of the season.

"I was pitching and a guy hit one up the middle," said Caudle. "I kind of backhanded it across my body and put my right hand down. My thumb kind of popped back and I tore the ligament in it."
