Ball gets new offer, but leader doesn't change

Jackson, Ga., High defensive end Neland Ball has the size and speed to be a high priority for colleges in 2007. And the 6-foot-5, 220-pounder who claims 4.6 speed is beginning to see it with increased attention from some big-time schools as well as a trio of scholarship offers.

Ball already had an offer in-hand from Auburn and Kentucky. Last week, he added another SEC school to that list in Ole Miss. He's also hearing regularly from Georgia, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Michigan State and Virginia among others.

"My coach came into weight training and showed me the letter saying Ole Miss wanted to offer a full scholarship," said Ball. "It was my first letter from Ole Miss. They saw my film and offered me on the spot. It felt great."

The offer from the Rebels catapulted them into Ball's top five, but his leader has not changed. He lists his top schools as Auburn, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Clemson and Georgia.
