Offer count climbs to 11 for talented Cloy

Columbia (S.C.) Spring Valley offensive center/tight end Mason Cloy (6-foot-4, 265 pounds, 4.9 seconds) is one of the top prospects in South Carolina. Cloy, who now holds eleven scholarship offers, is taking his time with the recruiting process but things are starting to heat up. Cloy is an athletic lineman, so much so that Virginia is targeting the Palmetto State standout as a tight end. Are the Cavs, led by assistant Levern Belin, in the mix with the versatile Cloy?

"Virginia is definitely a team that I am interested in. I like the academic reputation and the staff is great," said Cloy.

Cloy played both center (first seven games) and tight end (last seven games) for Spring Valley last season.

He finished the season with 68 pancake blocks combined from both positions. At tight end, Cloy averaged 15 yards per catch and finished the season with two touchdown receptions.

An excellent student, Cloy maintains a 4.0 GPA and has scored 1,090 on the SAT.
