Stud Carolina CB sets summer slate

The state of North Carolina's top cornerback, Marcus Gilchrist, put his skills on full display last Saturday at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas Elite 100 combine.

"I did well today, hopefully I'll make the team," Gilchrist said. "The talent (instate) in the '06 class was pretty good, but we are going to top them. We will blow South Carolina out of the water."

The 5-11, 175-pound standout from High Point, N.C., Andrews has 17 offers. Gilchrist indicated that Florida, Notre Dame and USC are his newest tenders.

"I don't have a school (choice) list yet," he said. "I'm going to set up dates to take care of my long (visits), because I have hit up everything around here."
