Skills Camp overview

More than 500 high school football players attended USC's annual skills camp this Saturday.


While the camp's turnout in term of quantity was incredible, the quality of talented represented from the skill positions was also tremendous. Unlike previous years, 2006 brought forth skill from inside and outside California.


The most notable recruit making an appearance was New Orleans John Curtis athlete Joe McKnight. At 5-foot-11, 185-pounds, McKnight made his presence felt when he set Cromwell track on fire with a blazing 4.40 electronically recorded 40-yard dash time.


After a round of applause from the USC coaches timing McKnight, Ken Norton Jr. - who's recruiting Joe for the Trojans - gave the five-star standout a hug, yelling to the other campers, "now that's what I'm talking about".
