Four-star rated safety visits Clemson Friday

One of the nation's top defensive recruits was in Clemson Friday in Orlando, Fla., Edgewater defensive back Lorenzo Edwards.


The 6-foot-2, 220-pound safety is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 13 prospect nationally at his position, and No. 22 overall regardless of position in the state of Florida.


The touted Rivals250 member got into Clemson with his aunt and younger brother on Thursday before beginning his unofficial visit Friday morning.


"We got in yesterday around 7pm, checked into the Hampton Inn, and then got up this morning to go meet with coach (Chris) Rumph around 9:30," Edwards told Tigerillustrated.com Friday. "We toured the Banks McFadden Building, we went over to Vickery Hall, we talked to some academic advisers, and I just got a good feel for what Clemson had to offer."
