Dustin Earnest is ready to get it going
Some of the state's best incoming freshmen football players will be playing in Tuesday night's Texas High School Coaches Association all-star game, including 10 Texas Longhorns. It will be a chance for the youngsters to showcase their talents on regional television, and it will give the guys a chance to work off some rust before suiting up for the Longhorns next week.
Orangebloods.com was able to take in a couple of the all-star practices, and we caught up with Dustin Earnest to get an update on his progress, including Earnest's first two months on the Forty Acres:
On his first couple months of college life:
It's going great. Running has been hard but fun. The guys are all really nice. Lifting with Mad Dog, we've been busy with that. Classes have been good. I'm glad I got down here (in June) so now I know where everything is with classes and things. That will make it easier in the fall.
On if the transition from high school ball to college ball was a shock to his system:
It was a little bit of a shock but about a week into it was fine.
