Media Day: More with Alex Kanellis
In our second media day interview with defensive end Alex Kanellis, the sophomore talks about expectations this season, the development of the defensive line and their chemistry, the competitiveness of the players towards one another, and much more.
Q: One magazine has you guys as the No. 2 defensive line in the country. Do you pay any attention to that?
KANELLIS: Oh, not really because you just don't know until you go out there. We'll see how we do.
Q: Do you feel any extra burden with the linebackers, Chad and Abdul, gone this year?
KANELLIS: No, our job is the same and we feel confident with the linebackers that we've got. They've been doing a really good job, so I don't think it's any different for us at all.
Q: Last year you guys came on strong at the end of the season. How do you plan to continue that this year?
KANELLIS: Just keep doing the things we were doing right last year at the end of the season, playing with our hands and really taking it to guys. I think part of it might have been a confidence thing and an experience thing, but we try to do the same thing every time. We're really working hard to get that done, so hopefully it will just carry over.
