Bryant ready to shine

Two years ago, Vanderbilt Coach Bobby Johnson knew that he'd need some help at linebacker in 2006 with the departure of Moses Osemwegie and the impending upperclassmen status of Marcus Buggs, Jonathan Goff, and Kevin Joyce. Johnson looked to Ohio-a notorious linebacker-producing state-and snagged one of the state's best in Cincinnati's Brandon Bryant.


Two years later, Bryant's position coach, Warren Belin, says one of Johnson's top recruits of 2005 is ready to help.


"Brandon's coming along and improving in every practice," said Belin after Saturday's scrimmage.
