Practice report: Opener in ten days

The Tigers opened up their final week before game week with a full pads practice behind the Tom Taylor building on Tuesday afternoon. PowerMizzou.com was there:

*There were approximately ten new walk-ons in practice in the first practice since school started. We don't have any names yet, but there were a couple receivers, a couple defensive linemen and a punter.

*There was no depth chart released. Gary Pinkel said there are still some battles being waged and he would not finalize anything until after the last scrimmage on Thursday. No depth chart will be released to the media until Monday.

*Here are the battles we think are still up for grabs: Left guard between Monte Wyrick and Ryan Madison, backup defensive end between DeMarcus Scott, Tarrell Corby and Tommy Chavis, backup right tackle between Dain Wise and Louis Pintola.

*Tommy Saunders dropped a rare pass in practice. Receivers coach Andy Hill ordered him to do ten pushups and said, "That will make it 20 thousand and ten," in reference to Saunders' goal of 100,000 pushups.
