The running backs will all play on Saturday

Nebraska's starting I-back against Louisiana Tech will be . . .

Marlon Lucky, Cody Glenn, Brandon Jackson or Kenny Wilson.

Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan released the Huskers' first depth chart of the 2006 season Tuesday, but declined to name a starter at I-back or give a definitive picture of where the four backs stack up in regard to playing time for Saturday's season opener against Louisiana Tech.

"I couldn't fit them all on one line. I had to put two on one and two on the other," Callahan said in reference to the depth chart that listed Lucky and Glenn on one line and Jackson and Wilson on another. "They're all going to play. I guess you're going to have to come to the game to see who's going to get that first call."

Callahan said Lucky, Glenn, Jackson and Wilson have had a competitive and productive fall camp and the starter will likely be determined by the plays that are selected for the initial offensive series of the game. He noted that Nebraska's I-backs are playing on a rotational system with each player being utilized on plays that best fit their individual strengths and abilities.

"It's based on play selection and based on personnel groupings that will be in the game at that time," Callahan said. "It's great competition and all four backs are capable of playing at anytime."
