This was a game of big hits and bigger plays. It was game when youth would be served, stars would be born and records would be challenged. But ultimately it was a game that reminded us all why we love college football.
In the second overtime games in two years, Boston College downed the visiting Tigers 34-33 in what was without question the most exciting game played at the Heights in over a decade. The win tied Tom O'Brien with Joe Yukicka for all time wins for Boston College and pushed the Eagles to 2-0 and 1-0 in the ACC.
When Boston College joined the ACC, they were told their yearly "rivalry game" would be Virginia Tech. There have also been recent talks with Syracuse to come back on the schedule and be BC's last game of the year rival. But rivalrys have a funny way of not really following the rules set forth by the marketers and schedule makers and Boston College and Clemson University have just found themselves in the midst of what has the makings of a great one.
