Defensive Youth Movement

It's hard to believe that the Trojans will start only one senior on defense against Nebraska Saturday, but linebacker Dallas Sartz will be the lone senior in a youth-filled defense.

But Sartz said it really doesn't matter that he's the only senior because the younger guys are playing well.

"The young guys are really stepping up," Sartz said. 'Everybody out there is trying to help out everybody out there. It's not just one guy doing his own thing."

The secondary has probably been hit the hardest after losing safety Josh Pinkard for the year and fellow safety Kevin Ellison didn't practice on Thursday after hyper-extending his knee two days earlier. Cornerback Kevin Thomas is unlikely to play because of an ankle sprain.
