Ford 'seals deal' with Mountaineer commit Jenkins

Josh Jenkins had developed a relationship at least by phone with lead recruiter Tony Gibson. He and his mother met head coach Rich Rodriguez last Thursday.

He is developing a "very close" relationship with line coach Rick Trickett, according to Parkersburg High assistant coach Mark McCullough.

However, what really blew away the junior Hunt Award candidate and his All-American mother, Debbie Johnson, was the one-two punch of Garrett Ford and Danny Buggs, according to McCullough.

Jenkins, 6-foot-5, 283, was considered a heavy lean toward the Mountaineers since Sept. 1 when official offers could be mailed out to plays.

Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Florida State and Oregon have been pursuing him also. In fact, the Fighting Irish requested he and his mother visit a week ago when the Irish hosted Michigan.
