The following is a list of Top 10 Tiders for Week 4 of the 2006 football season. Every Wednesday, BOL senior writer Travis Reier lists his top 10 Tide performers from the previous game. In effect, the list serves as a week-to-week ranking of Alabama's most valuable players.

1. Keith Brown Last Week: 1
Brown pulled in seven passes for 97 yards and a touchdown at Arkansas. He leads the SEC with 6.5 receptions per game and is second with 102.5 yards per game. The junior is averaging 18 yards per catch in his last five games.

2. Wallace Gilberry Last Week: 4
Five tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in the loss to the Hogs. As good against the run as any defensive end in the nation. Still looking for his first sack, but Gilberry does lead the Tide in quarterback hurries (4).

3. Antoine Caldwell Last Week: 3
Honored as the Tide's offensive lineman of the week after grading out at 92 percent and recording four knockdowns against Arkansas. May not win the Rimington Trophy this year, but will be a favorite to take the award in a year's time.

4. John Parker Wilson Last Week: 5
UA's offensive player of the week after completing 16-of-20 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns in Fayetteville. His play at Arkansas validated his position as one of the SEC's top quarterbacks through the first month of the 2006 season.

5. Andre Smith Last Week: 2
Given the environment and the step up in competition, Smith performed admirably in his first SEC road start. Played 80 snaps (including special teams) last Saturday.

6. Simeon Castille Last Week: 7
Recorded his third interception of the season at Arkansas. Also dropped Razorback tailback Darren McFadden for a six-yard loss in the second half. Defensive co-leader in snaps played with 229.

7. DJ Hall Last Week: Fringe
Ripped the Arkansas secondary for six catches, 144 yards and a 78-yard touchdown reception. Hall is averaging 22.1 yards per catch and 81 yards per game. He has caught a touchdown pass in each of the three games he has played in.

8. Jeffrey Dukes Last Week: 10
Picked off his second pass of the season at Arkansas. The interception was his second in as many games. Led the Tide in tackles at Arkansas with seven. Leads the team in tackles through four games with 23. Defensive co-leader in snaps played with 229.

9. Lionel Mitchell Last Week: NR
Recorded his second interception of the season in Fayetteville. Second-leading tackler at Arkansas with six stops. The Tide's reigning defensive player of the week, Mitchell has started two of the three games he was available to play in. His presence at right cornerback has freed up Simeon Castille to play the nickel.

10. Jimmy Johns Last Week: NR
Picked up 24 yards on eight carries at Arkansas. Also excelled in pass protection, where he had multiple blitz pickups. Might be in line for more carries at Florida this Saturday.

SIX ON THE FRINGE: FB Tim Castille; MLB Prince Hall ; CB Ramzee Robinson; FB Le'Ron McClain; DE Keith Saunders; LS Luke Spaulding.
