The final breakdown of the Kansas State game

MANHATTAN, Kan. - For the first time in a long time Nebraska finds themselves in a place they haven't been-on top of the Big 12 North.

Nebraska's 21-3 victory at Kansas State on Saturday puts the Huskers at a perfect 3-0 in the Big 12 Conference and sets the table for next week's North vs. South showdown in Lincoln against defending national champion Texas (6-1, 3-0).

"It's the first time we've been there," Defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove said. "It's right where we want to be."

The win is also Nebraska's third over a Big 12 North opponent and second consecutive win over a North team on the road this season. Since losing last season at Kansas, Nebraska has won nine out of their last 10 games to race out to a 6-1 start this season.

"I think it's huge," head coach Bill Callahan said. "Like I mentioned last spring, these two road games we had in the Big 12 North were key…they were crucial. Every game is important, but this was huge.
