Terps moving up for Benn?

Washington (D.C.) Dunbar wide receiver Arrelious Benn took his final official visit before it's decision time, this one to Maryland. The Terps have long been considered an underdog in the race for the nation's No. 2 wideout, but his recent visit to College Park has pushed them near the top.

"I had a great visit to Maryland," said the 6-foot-1, 210-pounder. "I saw a lot of things I liked. They beat Florida State, a team I like a lot, and that showed me that the program is headed in the right direction. There are a few things that I still need to see from the offense, but I liked everything about the visit."

Benn has also visited Illinois, Florida State and Notre Dame and is close to a decision.

"Not this week but probably the week after that," he said. "I'm considering all four schools and I just need to figure out which one is the right fit for me. The quarterback situation is important to me, which is why I spent a lot of my trip to Maryland with Josh Portis. Each school either has a very good young quarterback playing now or coming in with me next season. It will be a tough decision."

Benn caught six passes for what he estimated was for 130 yards and a touchdown this past weekend in the mud and rain. He admitted that deep down inside he has an idea of which school he was going to pick.

"I do, but I'm not convinced of it yet so I need to do some more thinking and talk to the coaches again," he said. "I'll know for sure in a week or so I think."
