Houston Saves the Day

MATTHEWS, N.C.- Ryan Houston and his Butler High teammates got a real battle from Scotland County Friday night, but behind Houston's 194 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries, the Bulldogs prevailed, coming from behind to claim a 21-17 victory.

Butler (10-2) twice had to rally from deficits, the last coming midway through the fourth quarter, when Houston broke off a 43-yard run and a 31-yard run on consecutive plays, the latter good for a touchdown, to give the Bulldogs their winning score.

"As a football team, we're not going to put our heads down, or lay down for anybody," Houston said after the game. "We had a bad first half; I fumbled twice. Usually I'm a real good ball handler. I don't know what's gotten into me. I've got to work on squeezing the ball a little tighter."
