Sooners eyeing BCS Bowl
Before this weekend, there were merely whispers surrounding Oklahoma's chances at earning a berth in one of the five BCS bowl games. But after a rash of upsets in the top 10, those whispers are materializing into honest discussions.
Those close to the Sooner program are still looking at the Oregon game as a non-decision. It's safe to say the national media has ignored Oklahoma's plight. There's no need to look much further than the recent rankings which have seen the Sooners climb like a sloth toward the top 15 spots on the rungs of public opinion known as the coaches and Harris Interactive Top 25 polls.
Should Texas lose to Texas A&M in their season finale, the Sooners won't have to rely on an at-large bid to attend a BCS bowl.
But according to Bob Stoops, his team is deserving if they can take finish off the season with two more victories.
When asked if his team is a BCS bowl team following his team's 34-24 victory over Texas Tech, Stoops replied, "If we win the next week and we win the following week."
"Ask me in a couple of weeks. Fair enough?" he said.
