Any recruiting impact to Chizik's decision?
When a coach leaves a college program, be it his choice or not, it can often times send a ripple affect through the program, particularly in the area of recruiting. Current commits can sometimes rethink their pledge and players that are still on the team's recruiting radar may change their view, especially when the coaching change includes someone as involved as an offensive or defensive coordinator.
That's the exact situation that Texas finds itself in now that defensive coordinator Gene Chizik has taken the head coaching job at Iowa State. With 23 commitments already in the fold, the immediate question for Longhorn fans is whether or not Chizik's departure will cause any of Texas' pledges to reconsider their early decision.
The early indication is that the change will have very little effect, if any at all.
