OSU freshmen earn All-America

Last February, Mike Gundy and his coaching staff signed one of the best classes in Oklahoma State history.

Many of those new faces were forced into action in the course of OSU's 6-6 regular season that saw the Cowboys lose four games in the closing minutes.

The strong play of several OSU freshmen was rewarded yesterday when a trio of true freshmen were named to the 2006 Freshman All-America Team.

Linebacker Patrick Lavine and cornerback/return man Perrish Cox both made the first-team defense, while linebacker Chris Collins made the second-team despite missing half of the season with a torn ACL.
