Aliquippa's Lindsey is a Panther
Aliquippa linebacker Brandon Lindsey committed to the Panthers over the weekend. Lindsey made his official visit to Pitt this weekend, then broke away for a basketball game on Saturday, as Aliquippa took on Schenley. He chose the Panthers over offers from West Virginia, Ohio State and Boston College.
"I informed them today," Lindsey said. "I knew in the middle of the week I'd be committing. I felt most comfortable with the coaches there. Also, the players they're bringing in. They're going to be good in a year or two."
Lindsey said that while he was glad to have his decision out of the way, it wasn't bogging him down too much. He knew he was going to be a Panther. He was hosted by former Aliquippa native Darrelle Revis, and said he spent the most time talking with assistant coach Bob Junko and head coach Dave Wannstedt.
In addition to Revis, Lindsey joins a list of recent Aliquippa standouts to commit to the Panthers. Josh Lay committed to Pitt in 2000, and was a sixth-round selection of the New Orleans Saints this past April. Tommie Campbell> worked his way into the starting lineup this past season as a sophomore.
