One more local practice to go

One more practice to go for the season of 2006 in Westwood. There are more scheduled but those will be held up in San Francisco as the team gets ready for their showdown with Florida State in the Emerald Bowl. The Bruins have practiced hard as they have all season with intensity and spirit. It is very important to them to finish on a high note and take that good feeling into spring and onward.

Coach Karl Dorrell was very upbeat after Wednesday's practice.

Dorrell: "We had a great practice. Our timing is getting close to where it was for the USC game. I felt that was good today. This is Wednesday. We practice tomorrow. We travel on Friday and we go up there on Saturday for another rehearsal of the whole game plan for the Saturday, Sunday, Monday practices and we will be ready to go. I'm pleased with we're at right now. We are getting our precision back and it is getting close to where it has been."

Have you been up there or do the coaches go up there and scout out the practice facilities?

Dorrell: "You know (Football Operations) Bob Lopez went up to look through all with all that with Mike Dahlin, who does all our travel arrangements, we are at City College San Francisco and I think it is a turf field like this (half of Spaulding field is turf), which is good. Whether it is raining or not we're going. We don't have to worry about surfaces and stuff like that.

"Injury wise…Chase Moline is feeling better today. He's not going to be cleared in terms of full practice until Saturday. We will probably hold him out on Thursday and he will resume on Saturday.

"Chris Joseph did more work today on the side and he feels better and he ought to be ready to go on Saturday, too, so we are just trying to get him back where he feels like he's full speed. He's getting closer each day this week."
