The Perfect Storm

In 1991, three storms converged just off the coast of New England to form what meteorologists called The Perfect Storm. Perfect storms come once a century and while the damage they inflict is devastating and their intent merciless, their rage and fury can only be described as exquisitely and brutally glorious.

In '91, the storms that constituted the aforementioned meteorological anomaly, immortalized by Sebastian Junger in print and the movies, came from the Northwest, the Southeast and one that was already here. Now, here, in 2007, such a pattern once again exists on the horizon. This pattern threatens not to leave hard working sailors in her wake but rather Hurricanes, Deacons, Devils and even the God-fearing Irish themselves.
