Clemson lands highly regarded Chavis

The Clemson Tigers have landed their 19th verbal commitment of the 2007 recruiting class. Pledge No. 19 comes courtesy of one of the top prep school prospects in the nation - defensive end Miguel Chavis out of Chatham, Va. - Hargrave Military Academy.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pounder verbally committed to Clemson and recruiter, wide receivers coach Dabo Swinney on Saturday midway through his official visit with Clemson.

"Clemson is a little piece of heaven," Chavis told Tigerillustrated.com Saturday. "This decision was a no-brainer for me."
