In-depth with Sidell Corley
Up until Friday, McGill defensive end Sidell Corley had been committed to Florida for 10 months after giving the Gators a verbal commitment after an unofficial visit. But Corley, 6-foot-4, 260-pounds, put the recruiting world on its heels after not only de-committing from the defending national champions but also eliminating them from consideration.
"I called Coach Meyer and Coach Strong on Friday and told them that I was de-committing. They took it alright. I don't think they were happy but they wished me the best and said nice things," Corley said. "In the end I just didn't think Florida was the place for me. I appreciate the staff and the way they recruited. Florida is a great school but just not for me. But I wish them the best. I just knew I needed to get this weight off my shoulders and now I feel a lot better.
