Cassidy set for Nebraska
Quarterback Austin Cassidy of Lincoln (Neb.) Southwest has made a firm decision on where he will be attending college over the next four to five years. He did have other options, but the 6-foot-1, 208-pound athlete has decided to stay close to home and compete for a starting position on either offense or defense. He had some scholarship offers from some Division-II schools, but his heart was set on playing at Nebraska.
If given the opportunity at quarterback, he feels that his "vision of the field and knowing where guys are" would be his strong points.
At a state track meet last summer, Cassidy took home a gold medal in the pole vault and finished fifth in the 110 meter hurdles and seventh in the 300 meter hurdles.
