Signee Update: Gibson lives up to hype
Four star wide receiver and Rivals100 member Brandon Gibson was one of the Crimson Tide's top targets all year long in the 2007 recruiting class and Tide fans everywhere celebrated when Alabama landed his signature on signing day. According to UMS-Wright head coach Terry Curtis, the hype around the 6-foot-2, 190-pound star is all warranted.
"He's a big, fast receiver. He's a strong kid that can run, stretch the field and run routes," said Curtis. "He's also a physical, tough type receiver who's not afraid to run across the middle and make the catch."
Even more impressive than Gibson's skills on the field is the way he handles himself off the field.
"He's a great football player but he's an even better person," said Curtis.
"It's an old cliché, I know, but he's a guy of great character. I'd bet my reputation and my job that you'll never have to worry about him getting into any trouble in college. He's a good student and a kid of high character."
