A new prospect on the horizon
With the Texas A&M coaching staff holding 19 early commitments in hand for the 2008 recruiting class, they now have the time to scour the state for under the radar prospects. One such player is wide receiver Darius Austin of Houston Booker T. Washington High School.
Despite catching 35 passes for over 750 yards and 11 touchdowns while leading his team to the District 20-4A title, Austin was not receiving the attention from colleges that his statistics would seem to merit. However, a chance meeting helped the Aggie staff find the speedy prospect.
The 5-foot-10 receiver is gaining interest from Texas A&M and TCU.
