Goodnight the party is over
The good news is the University of Florida will lose five of the six regulars Billy Donovan watched go for 66 points and 36 rebounds on Saturday night in Atlanta. The bad news is that once again the Gators took apart UCLA on a national stage, ending the Bruins' season with a resounding 76-66 victory at the Georgia Dome.
Just to get it out of the way, every Bruin fan complaining about the officiating is not just having a sour grapes moment. The early foul trouble UCLA found itself in had a major influence on the impact of the game.
Arron Afflalo had as many minutes played (3) as personal fouls at the half, and after Ben Howland held out UCLA's best player for the first minute of the second stanza, the All-American had zero points with ten minutes remaining in the contest.
