Virginia Tech has shown a renewed interest in the Sunshine State in 2008 offering a variety of players on both sides of the ball. Dunnellon, Fla. linebacker Lerentee McCray is one of those prospects that has an offer from the Hokies early on in the recruiting process.

"Virginia Tech is a good school and they always have one of the top defenses in college football," he said. "I'm on the defensive side of the ball and that can help me in getting to the next level.

"I've been talking with their coaches a bit including coach Wiles. He seems like a pretty good coach who isn't just looking at me from a football standpoint, but is also getting to know me better. He pretty much has been telling me to come up and check out the school since it's a good place and environment. I'm trying to go up this summer for a visit."
