UGASports TV: Is Owens close to committing?

The University of Georgia was the first school to offer Blountsville (Al.) - Susan Moore offensive lineman Jonathan Owens. Right after the offer he and his parents traveled over to Athens to see what UGA had to offer. Owens came back naming the Dawgs as his leader and nothing has changed since then. Georgia coaches visited him last week and we sat down with him this week to see what he had to say about his decision.

Owens sat down with UGASports.com a couple days ago for this exclusive video interview. We were there to put an eye on Owens as he went through spring practice, but before practice began we talked about recruiting.

This 6-foot-5, 290-pound OL has offers from Georgia and Troy right now, but schools like Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and others are showing a lot of attention.

Going into the spring Owens had it in his mind that he wanted to end the process early and get his commitment out of the way. Before spring practice started he said he was going to make his decision shortly after the spring was complete.

We sat down and talked about if that was still his plan, just when he could be ready, how close he was to committing to Georgia, and what he liked about the Dawgs.
