North Carolinas Finest: 15-11 and toured the state of North Carolina this spring, evaluating several of the state's top gridiron prospects in the Class of 2008 at various Combines. After careful consideration, we release our "North Carolina's Finest" pre-summer Top 25, a list of the best of the best in the Tar Heel State.


No. 15 Jacob Charest QB Matthews (N.C.) Butler

At 6-3, 190-pounds, Charest has the necessary size to play at the next level, and with a solid combination of technique and arm strength, he can get the ball downfield through the air. As a junior, Charest threw for 3,011 yards and 22 touchdowns against just eight interceptions. A rugged, old-school type of quarterback, Charest wrestles in the offseason, and while he certainly isn't the most mobile signal caller around, he will fight for tough yards when he tucks the ball and runs. Charest has room for fine-tuning in his throwing form and footwork, but he has a solid overall release.
