Offensive backfield key to season

The Boston College offensive backfield is led by senior quarterback Matt Ryan, a potential Heisman candidate if things go well. However, the running back position is a huge question mark. Who will emerge to carry the load?

Tailback - Andre Callender, L.V. Whitworth, A.J. Brooks, Jeff Smith

The tailbacks are the toughest position to breakdown in the backfield. For the past three years no running back has stood out or come close to living up to the standards Boston College running backs had set for the previous seven seasons. With a new head coach and an entire new offensive coaching staff, who emerges at running back will be one of the most interesting developments in the upcoming season. Coach Logan has vowed to improve the running game. If he is to follow through on his word, at least one of the tailbacks will have to step up.
