McKinley knows he's the top gun now

Kenny McKinley is asked the question wherever he goes.

Can he match the stratospheric numbers (142 catches for 2,233 yards and 23 touchdowns) put up by All-American wide receiver Sidney Rice, who departed for the NFL after two spectacular seasons in a USC uniform?

McKinley's response? You bet.

"Oh yeah, I think I'm the type of receiver who can put up his type of numbers," McKinley said. "I'm not Sidney, though. We are totally different types of receivers. But I believe that I can put up those types of numbers."

The fourth quarter of the Liberty Bowl may have provided a glimpse of the future when McKinley snatched a pair of 43-yard scoring strikes from Blake Mitchell to help USC outlast Houston, 44-36.
