Fish crush Panthers in opening exhibition
The Nike Pro City league opened up with an exhibition of the Howard Pulley Panther 17 and under team playing El-Amin's Fish House. Simply put this was men amongst boys on the floor as expected and Dan Coleman led the way. The late game matched Sabes-Petters against Compass highlighted for Gopher fans by Damien Johnson playing with some local pros upfront.
It was quickly apparent that this was a game of men and boys as the Fish House had a 34 to 16 rebounding advantage at the half along with a 36-point lead. Dan Coleman was just to big, to skilled and to explosive for the young Panthers to contend with and he could have had 40 and 20 if he wouldn't have sat out then entire fourth quarter. Dan scored all his baskets at the rim as he had several explosive dunks and he ran the floor to get results as well.
Combined with Coleman's numerous buckets inside, Jamel Staten's constant rebounding and continual trips to the free throw line, and Khaild El-Amin's distributing the basketball everywhere, the Fish dominated after spotting the Panthers a couple buckets to start with.
