Roberts' coach discusses pledge

Earlier this afternoon, Smithfield, Va. running back Dyrell Roberts made a pledge to the Hokies over numerous other offers. The decision was a big one for the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder, but also just as important to his coach, Chris Fraser.

"I'm excited for him," Fraser said. "He's going to get a great free education and a chance to play at Virginia Tech.

"I went with him to camp at Tech earlier this summer. I can say I am a fan of Virginia, but the visit there really impressed me. Everything is top-notch there including the facilities and coaches. They have been great to talk to as well. Coach Cavanaugh told me before today, he felt like an expected grandfather."
