Road to recovery nearly complete

The road to recovery is always a long and difficult one for anyone. For Anderson Russell it was particularly hard because he had never been injured before in his life. There were no trips to the E-R for a broken bone or an overnight stay for getting his tonsils out. The 6-foot-0, 190-pound sophomore free safety last had any significant injury when he was in kindergarten and needed some stitches. That streak all ended last September when Russell's knee tendons tore on the fields of Iowa City (Iowa) and the Ohio State starter had to go under the knife and start his long journey back.

Russell was starting to put together a great season before it all came to an all too sudden halt. The former Georgia product had been named a starter and had racked up 16 tackles (eight solo) in his five games of action. Now Russell feels great and is back on top of the depth chart.
