Best in Camp
Over the last three weeks, PowerMizzou.com has attended every practice the Tigers have had, including three scrimmages. We have broken down the practices and the roster in every possible way. With camp now closed, we hand out our awards.
No surprise for those of you who have been paying attention. Danario Alexander was phenomenal. I am not sure he is going to lead the Tigers in catches, yards or touchdowns, but I do think he's the best receiver on the roster. He is a physical mismatch for any defender and he is simply a different player than he was a year ago. And he wasn't bad a year ago.
We are going to go with Brock Christopher here. To be up front, we didn't see enough from the Tiger defense to prove to us that it is good enough to win the Big 12 North. But then again, we didn't expect to. Those are questions that cannot be answered in the month of August. But Christopher was a guy who showed up every day and made plays. Missouri has not had a middle linebacker who has taken charge and led the defense for a while. They just might have one in Christopher.
Best Camp by Position
I really, really like what I saw out of the linebackers. But this one is no contest. The Missouri receiving corps is the best in the Big 12. If it's not, I want to see the one that is. Franklin, Alexander, Jared Perry, Jeremy Maclin, Greg Bracey and Tommy Saunders make it awfully tough to figure out who gets to start.
