A&M looking for receivers to step up in 2007

The explosiveness of the Texas A&M offense is well documented after running backs Jorvorskie Lane and Mike Goodson bruised and streaked their way through defenses last season. Behind an experienced offensive line, the Aggies are expected to have another dominant running game in 2007.

The looming questions, however, is what about the passing game? Stephen McGee is back at quarterback, and with a healthy throwing arm unlike last season, but he lost two of his favorite receiving targets in Chad Schroeder and L'Tydrick Riley.

Senior Earvin Taylor is the lone receiver back with major experience, and he only had 160 yards on 19 catches as a junior last season. Senior Kerry Franks led the team in yardage per catch after averaging 26.5 yards on 10 receptions with one touchdown. Franks, however, is known more for his returning abilities in the kicking game. The Aggies will hope that those skills translate well to the offensive side of the ball.

Junior Pierre Brown joins the starting trio after having 12 catches last season for 104 yards.
