GoPowercat Q&A: Ernie Pierce

When wide receiver Ernie Pierce arrived at the Vanier Complex on Monday afternoon, he found himself at the top of the Wildcats' depth chart. Expect Pierce to see an increased role in the team's passing game starting this Saturday when the Cats play host to Missouri State. GoPowercat.com caught up with the first-year K-State receiver Monday for an exclusive interview about his new role in the offense, as well as a variety of other topics.

Ok, so you're at the top of the depth chart now. How does it feel?
It feels good. I'm still trying to absorb it right now. I mean, I walked in and they're telling me I'm first on the depth chart. It was a surprise. I'm excited.

How do you like Manhattan so far?
The place is cool. It's a nice relaxed place. When I first came here people asked me, "If you're from California, why did you come here?" It's not much different for me. I don't do much, and this place gives me a perfect opportunity to focus on football.

That's a pretty good question, and I think I'll steal it. Why did you come here?
I like the coaching staff here. I like where the program is headed. I think Coach (Ron) Prince has this program is headed right back to where it was under coach Snyder.
