Prospects play under the lights
The Johnstown Trojans jumped out to a 7-0 lead on Saturday but lost to cross-town rival Westmont -Hilltop (3-0) 14-7. Pitt commit Antwuan Reed gained 119 yards on 20 carries for the Trojans. Johnstown drops to 2-1 on the season and will now host Richland (7-0) on Friday night.
The Wilmington Area Greyhounds (2-1) raced past Grove City by a score of 37-0. Pitt commit Chris Burns rushed for 244 yards on 20 carries Burns rushed for 2 touchdowns and caught a pass for another score. Wilmington will be on the road Friday night at Greenville(3-0).
Churchville-Chili (3-0) is the No. 1 ranked team in the Rochester, NY area and Saturday night the Saints showed why. Churchville-Chili hammered Brockport (1-2) 45-26 behind senior running back Averin Collier. Saturday night Collier ran for 303 yards on only 13 carries. Collier got loose on long touchdown runs of 60-yards, 74-yards and 77-yards.
Hopewell, the No. 3 Class AAA team in the WPIAL, ran their record to 3-0 with a convincing 30-6 win over previously unbeaten Ambridge (2-1). Halfback Jared Rains, a University of Cincinnati commit, rushed for 140 yards on 22 carries. Running back David Posluszny, a Notre Dame commit, added 57 yards on nine attempts and scored one score. Hopewell's offensive line led by Pitt commit Ryan Turnley controlled the ball and pushed Ambridge around most of the night. The Hopewell Vikings will host Blackhawk (2-1) on Friday night.
