Florida visit great for Hill

Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep athlete Will Hill isn't one to talk much about the recruiting process. However, the nation's No. 17 player took his much anticipated official visit to Florida this past weekend and his head coach, Rich Hansen, gave us the scoop.

"The visit was great, that about sums it up," said Hansen. "He was down there with the defensive back who committed (Jeremy Brown) and they have talked since. He was hosted by Tim Tebow and I know he was all smiles when he returned."

Is a commitment coming soon?

"That I don't know," he said. "We were supposed to meet about it Monday night but something came up so I'm not sure when we'll talk about it. I know when I saw him Monday morning he was decked out in all Florida gear so I just smiled and knew he loved it. As of right now the plan is still for him to take his official visit to Southern Cal this upcoming weekend and take it from there."

Is there a chance he cancels that visit and ends the process?

"He could, I just don't know," said Hansen. "If he cancels the visit I guess you could read into that but as of right now he's still taking the trip as far as I know."

Hill visited Florida in July for Friday Night Lights and came away close to a commitment. However, he wanted to go back again with his family to make sure things were as good as he thought. Now it seems a comparison between Florida and Southern Cal is in order.

"We'll see if he's ready following that visit," Hansen said. "I know the process has been pretty stressful for all involved so I don't see it going on too much longer, but who knows?"

Hill led his team to a 61-0 victory over Memorial this past weekend. He only played the first half but completed 5 of 6 passes, threw for a touchdown, ran for a touchdown and returned an interception for a touchdown.

"He had a typical game for him," said Hansen. "He's just a special player."
