Scouting Wake Forest

Maryland opens ACC play Saturday and the Terps won't enjoy the luxury of easing into conference competition.

Awaiting Maryland is defending ACC champion Wake Forest, a team that will be playing with a healthy dose of desperation. The Demon Deacons, who were picked to finish 4th in the Atlantic Division, despite returning 13 starters, are 0-1 in league play and another early loss would make defending their crown highly unlikely.

It will be Maryland's second road game of the season but its first in front of a hostile crowd - the 12,201 attendees in Orange Bowl against Florida International didn't rise to that level.
