ASI Insider Report: Is the pass rush back?

Through the first three games, most of the criticism directed at the football program fell on a struggling offense, but the defense was not totally immune. While the defensive as a whole played well, there was some concern over the lack of a consistent pass rush.



In the first three games against average competition, Mickey Andrews' defense managed just five sacks and for the most part did not consistently pressure the opposing quarterback. But against Alabama's well regarded offensive line, the defensive front seven were constantly in John Parker Wilson's face and officially recorded three sacks and the total could have been higher than that.
