Adams addresses media after Saturday's loss

Vanderbilt's Mackenzi Adams, splitting time with Chris Nickson, came up big on Saturday night in some of his first significant playing time of his career. Adams was 7-10 passing for 125 yards and a touchdown, and rushed 14 times for 46 more yards. Afterwards, he spoke to the media at length about his, and his team's, performance.

"Mac, Coach Johnson said during the week that… (quarterbacking) was up in the air as to who would start. When did you know what your role would be for tonight?"

"Thursday after practice, (Quarterbacks Coach Jimmy} Kiser told me and Chris (Nickson) that we'd both be playing. He had some set plays and a couple of packages he was going to be in, and that I be in the rest. He told me Thursday after practice."
